U.S. Sen. Tina Smith was spending Wednesday night at a hospital in Washington after falling ill at work. According to a social media post from her office, Smith was working Wednesday at the Capitol when she “started to not feel well.

Staff for Democratic Sen. Tina Smith of Minnesota say she has been hospitalized after she started not feeling well while working at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday.

Smith stayed at the hospital overnight “out of an abundance of caution" after reporting feeling unwell Wednesday.
