The major studios have learned not to put out high profile titles in the wake of a Marvel movie – hence why Eli Craig's Clown In A Cornfield, Joe Carnahan's Shadow Force, and James Madigan's Fight Or Flight were Friday's big new arrivals – and that set the box office up for another big showdown between Jake Schreier's Thunderbolts* and Ryan Coogler's Sinners.

Thunderbolts* had a strong second weekend hold at the box office for an MCU movie, and has now reached $272.2 million globally. The Florence Pugh-fronted action flick added $33.1 million domestically and $34 million internationally to top the box office charts for a second week running.

It's official – Marvel Comics' upcoming New Thunderbolts* series has been retitled New Avengers after Marvel Studios changed the Thunderbolts* film title to reveal the meaning of its mysterious asterisk.
