Danny Houghton's final appearance for Hull FC ended in defeat as Catalans Dragons rounded off the Betfred Super League regular season with a comfortable 24-4 win at the MKM Stadium.

Looking to finish with a bang, Hull certainty fronted up. The last two members of the Challenge Cup winning squads, the line-up saw a true changing of the guard, with Callum Kemp and Ryan Westerman making their senior debuts alongside a strong contingent of young, promising talent in what was a spirited account.

Despite a fairly promising start under Ian Watson and a couple of notable victories – winning away at Catalans in the Challenge Cup, for one – the writing felt on the wall for Watson as summer approached and he was ultimately sacked in mid-July by the club.
