The Texas House Public Education Committee was scheduled to meet on Tuesday to take up two high priority bills which would address school funding and the creation of a school voucher plan. But the meeting was canceled late Monday night.

Dustin Burrows said the legislation would clear a committee early next week and be on the House floor “very soon thereafter — and pass.”

House Speaker Dustin Burrows said he expects both school choice bills to make it out of a House committee and onto the House floor for a vote early next week.
