ARLINGTON — Texas Rangers catcher Kyle Higashioka exited Tuesday’s game vs. the Athletics at Globe Life Field with hamstring tightness and will be reevaluated Wednesday.
The Texas Rangers are monitoring Nathan Eovaldi and his back, but the right-hander appears confident his return to the rotation is imminent.

Fien, the Rangers’ first-round pick in the 2025 MLB draft, signed his first professional contract on Tuesday at Globe Life Field. He took some questions from the media, some photos on the field and then took batting practice with current Rangers stars like Josh Jung. Jung was the Rangers’ first-round pick in 2019 out of Texas Tech.
Rangers veteran All-Star second baseman Marcus Semien made it clear when he addressed what this deadline means. “I want to be adding at the deadline,” Semien said in the Rangers clubhouse after a recent game. “I always want to make that a goal of mine: To make sure I’m on a team that is adding at the deadline.”
As the trade deadline looms, the next stretch of games will go a long way in determining Texas’ trade deadline plans.
