PJ Haggerty scored a career-high 42 points and led the go-ahead run for 16th-ranked Memphis in an 83-80 win over Wichita State in the American Athletic Conference quarterfinals on Friday.

FORT WORTH, Texas — PJ Haggerty – in his first game since being named AAC Player of the Year – had the best game of his career, dropping a career-high 42 points to carry Memphis basketball to a 83-80 win over Wichita State on Friday.

Memphis basketball star PJ Haggerty was named AAC Player of the Year. Tyrese Hunter and Dain Dainja joined him on the all-conference first team.

Memphis' PJ Haggerty was named the AAC player of the year, when Penny Hardaway was tabbed as the top coach in a vote by his peers. The league also recognized the late Amir Abdur-Rahim as an honorary coach of the year.
