The event will be back on schedule for the final day, after a weather delay suspended play in the second round on Friday and forced an early morning on Saturday to finish out the round. The third round was also pushed back from its originally scheduled start as a result, but finished on Saturday evening.
When Viktor Hovland sliced his opening shot in the the third round of the U.S. Open all the way into the bushes, he had no good options. He took a penalty stroke, dropped onto a muddy cart path and managed to hit through some of Oakmont's few remaining trees on his way to a bogey.

Burns shot 69 to finish at 4-under-par 206, one shot clear of J.J. Spaun (69) and Adam Scott (67, matching the day's low round with Carlos Ortiz). Viktor Hovland (70) is 1-under and Ortiz is even par.
Scott and J.J. Spaun, the 18-hole leader, are tied at three-under. Viktor Hovland is the only other player under par after 54 holes. Full leaderboard can be found here on PGATour.com. Here's a look at the players who have the best odds to win this year's tournament following Saturday's third round:
Johnny Miller, of Hilton Head Island S.C., who started his final Open round Sunday, June 17, 1973 six strokes behind the leaders and 3-over par 216, takes over fourth round lead with a charging 5-under par by birdie on the 15th, where he raises his hand after sinking the putt in Oakmont, Pa. Sam Burns make a mockery of Oakmont's brutal challenge with a brilliant round to take the US Open lead. This is the eighth time Burns has held the 36-hole lead since he joined the PGA Tour (his first in a major) and his conversion rate is not good to say the least.
