Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfilled the aspiration of the people of Bundelkhand with the Ken-Betwa river link project, but, the Congress party was opposing the progressive step.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the Congress' agenda was never to do developmental work and through PM Modi the river linking schemes came to the state.

The project was first envisaged following a feasibility study by the National Water Development Authority (NWDA) in 1995 at a cost of ₹1998.74 crore

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that PM Modi's gift of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal link project worth Rs 35k crore and Bhoomi Pujan of Ken-Betwa link project worth more than Rs 44k crore is a very big and important gift for the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Ken-Betwa river linking project in Madhya Pradesh. He highlighted Dr B R Ambedkar's contributions to water resource development. The project aims to provide drinking water to millions and generate hydropower and solar energy.

New Delhi, India Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of the Ken-Betwa River Link Project at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. On this occasion, he also inaugurated the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project in Khandwa district of the state virtually.

The Ken- Betwa river linking national project is the country's first interlinking of rivers project under the national perspective plan.
