The Church of God In Christ will move its annual Holy Convocation out of Memphis in 2026, Bishop Brandon Porter confirmed Tuesday.
COGIC moving annual conference out of Memphis, mayor says
“We didn't necessarily want to leave Memphis, but we do know transition many times happens,” said Dr. Anthony Coleman, Marion Sunset COGIC pastor. From singing and dancing to a word of prayer, over 30,000 COGIC attendees, or Saints, made their way to the Bluff City for the Holy Convocation in 2024.
COGIC moves its largest event from Memphis to St. Louis
The Church of God in Christ held its annual event in St. Louis from 2010 to 2019. It returned to Memphis in 2022. COGIC convention leaving Memphis after 2025
The Church of God in Christ’s annual Holy Convocation is leaving Memphis again. The 2025 convention will be held in Memphis, but the event will move to St. Louis for 2026 through 2028. The convention took an 11-year hiatus away from Memphis but returned in 2022.
