Chelsea have been boosted by the news that striker Liam Delap is just days away from returning to training following a hamstring injury. Delap, 22, has been out since suffering the problem against Fulham on August 30. The Athletic revealed he would not be able to play again until November and he is now on course to feature early next month.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca faced more questioning on Friday about Liam Delap's red card at Wolves, the club's disciplinary issues and set-pieces. When it came to the six dismissals in nine matches, Maresca was very precise with his language, clarifying his view that "some red cards they can avoid and some they can't".
