The Royal Train will soon leave the station for the last time. Buckingham Palace says King Charles III has accepted that it’s time to decommission the train, whose history dates back to Queen Victoria,

King Charles has decided to scrap Britain's royal train, a service dating back to Queen Victoria, because it is no longer cost-effective, as the monarchy sees its public funding soar by an extra 46 million pounds ($63 million) for the next two years.

The King is said to have fond memories of the train, which features a carriage created for Charles in the mid-1980s, which he still uses now that he is King.
