The Houston Texans had a hole at wide receiver after Jayden Higgins tore his ACL following a promising rookie year. They patched it by trading for New England Patriots deep threat Kayhson Boutte, who now appears to be stepping into a substantial role.
Therefore, the Texans went out to add Kayshon Boutte from the New England Patriots in exchange for safety Jaylen Reed and a seventh-round pick; a move bringingb depth to the position, and could end up benefitting the room immensely after Houston's No. 2 wideout would be deemed out for the year.
Texans HC DeMeco Ryans said Kayshon Boutte will play in Week 1 against the Bills. Speaking on Monday, Ryans said Boutte has been “picking up the playbook really well.” The fourth-year receiver was acquired in a trade with the Patriots back on August 24th and is expected to have an immediate role in the offense after the Texans lost Jayden Higgins to a torn ACL earlier this offseason.
