As of Tuesday afternoon, the Wyandotte County couple were still at it, helping people for free for three days straight on no more than 10 hours sleep and asking nothing in return.

The Kansas City metro is still digging itself out from a nearly-record 11 inches of snow that got dumped by a blizzard over the weekend. Roads remain icy and treacherous, however, and much of the city remains shut down.

The first weekend of 2025 saw a major winter storm coat the Kansas City Metro with a slick layer of ice - followed by a major dumping of snow during a Sunday blizzard.

The National Weather Service has lifted blizzard warnings for the metro area. Roads remain challenging across the region. High winds and earlier whiteout conditions forced closures on major highways,

The last time the weather in Kansas City was severe enough to be considered a blizzard was in November of 2018.
