Prosecutors in the western Mexican state of Jalisco have confirmed the discovery of many clothing items and bone fragments by a group of people searching for relatives at a previously known cartel training site.

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum said the attorney general’s office would take on the case of a ranch that a local search group said functioned as a cartel-led site of mass murder.

The remote ranch outside Mexico's second-largest city, Jalisco, was allegedly being used as a training base for cartel recruits.
