Three Houston firefighters sustained significant burns after becoming trapped in a burning apartment building on Tuesday morning, officials say.

Three firefighters were injured Tuesday morning after they became trapped while battling a two-alarm apartment fire in southeast Houston, officials confirmed.Fire officials said the three injured firefighters were from Station 46.

In response to reports of people trapped in a fire, Houston Fire Department crews were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 4800 block of Jarmese Street around 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, Brent Taylor, a spokesperson for the fire department said.
