Mark Zuckerberg denied rumours of a “Doomsday bunker” beneath his $270M Kauai estate, calling it a basic shelter like a basement. He emphasized the ranch’s focus on raising high-quality cattle, not building a survival hideaway.

Zuckerberg is in the process of constructing Koolau Ranch, a 1,400-acre compound that includes two mansions and a dozen buildings.

The underground shelter, which was revealed last year, prompted conspiracy theories on social media about wealthy tech moguls building doomsday bunkers.

In addition to the massive bunker, Zuckerberg’s $100 million compound, which is roughly 1,400 acres and known as Koolau Ranch, will have its own energy and food supplies, according to WIRED. When coupled with the land purchase, it will eventually cost more than $270 million.
