Brooks is among the project’s executive producers along with producing partner Kevin Salter and three alumni of FX’s What We Do in the Shadows — Stefani Robinson (who will serve as showrunner should the project move forward),

Gene Wilder starred as Frederick and co-wrote the screenplay with Brooks. The cast also included Marty Feldman, Cloris Leachman, Teri Garr, Peter Boyle, and Madeline Kahn. Brooks previously adapted the film into a stage musical, similar to what he did with “The Producers.”

According to Deadline, Very Young Frankenstein is a series based on Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein that is approaching a pilot order. Plot details about the show are being kept under wraps at this time, but for those less acquainted with the film, it’s a satire filled with references to classic Frankenstein films.
