Two of the Dallas Cowboys biggest defensive stars, DeMarvion Overshown and Trevon Diggs, are recovering from serious injuries and Stephen Jones provided the latest updates on their status.

FOXBOROUGH — Stefon Diggs sounded an optimistic tone Friday, saying he’s “ahead of schedule” in his rehab from a torn ACL last season with the Texans. The 31-year-old receiver, who signed a three-year deal with the Patriots this week, said Friday at Gillette Stadium he anticipates being ready to play “when the whistle blows.”

The details of Stefon Diggs' three-year, $69 million contract that he signed with the New England Patriots were revealed on Friday. According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, Diggs' deal contains $16.6 million fully guaranteed and $22.6 million guaranteed for injury (h/t SI.com's Mike Kadlick ).
