The Canyon fire along the Ventura-Los Angeles county line quickly grew to over 1,000 acres Thursday afternoon, triggering evacuations in and around Piru and Castaic.

A new wildfire was reported today at 1:25 p.m. in Ventura County, California. 75 firefighters have been assigned to respond to the blaze, however, has not succeeded in containing any of the fire by Thursday afternoon. The cause of it is still under investigation.
