President Trump is set to deliver remarks at the 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Army Grand Military Parade and Celebration, an event he envisioned.

Trump is poised to be president during the 250th anniversary of the nation's founding, the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and the LA Summer Olympics in 2028.

The chairs of the House and Senate Armed Services committees, the top congressional officials overseeing the military, are skipping Trump’s pageantry, which includes a flyover of vintage and contemporary warplanes. Instead, they’ll attend a different air show — the annual defense industry confab in Paris.

The Army is celebrating its 250th anniversary with a parade on Saturday, which happens to be President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday. Protests are also occurring across the nation.
