Thousands of miles away, Coldplay took the Nashville stage that same night and honored Ozzy in their own way. Chris Martin sat at the piano, said just one line “Ozzy, we love you” and played a stripped-down version of “Changes.” The crowd lit up their phones. Not a sound other than the music. It wasn’t a concert anymore. It felt like a goodbye.

Both aesthetically - and occasionally musically - the show cribbed from the heavy metal heyday of the 1980s. So it was only right that Gaga honored one of the genre's founders, Ozzy Osbourne, who died earlier that day.
