I agree with the others. Franklin to Emlenton. However, my favorite area within the trail system is along Sandy Creek. In Cranberry at the corner where Sheetz is head south toward Rockland, about 2 or 3 miles on the right is the parking area. When you are facing the trail if you go left there is a tunnel a little over a mile. Either direction there are dirt trails leading to the creek. Breath taking views no matter which direction you go, bridges high above the creek. Good swimming holes either direction. When the water is high it is canoeable.

Take 1st Street west towards Franklin and you will find the Justus Trail which takes you along the Allegheny river to Franklin. There you can continue down to Emlenton. Two tunnels on this stretch. Great fun, In Oil City you can take the Oil Creek Trail to Titusville. Take 8 ALT through the two and then follow the signs along railway line.
